Thanks to the creative genius' at Lego, the next generation of Mindstorms has been created.These new Mindstorms NXT are a complete and improved robot building kit which builds a robot with superb maneuverability and functionality.
They come with all the plastic bricks but much more than you would ever imagine, like:
The main part of the Mindstorms is the NXT itself. This is the brains (or controller). It is about the size of an iPod but includes a loudspeaker, a monochrome LCD, and navigation keys on the front. The Mindstorms NXT has three ports on top for connecting to the servo motors and four ports on the bottom for connecting to the four sensors: Touch, Light, Sound, and Ultrasonic
The sensors allow the Mindstorms NXT to react to sound or the environment. They can also detect light and color and measure distance. Precise servo motors allow it to move with the utmost precision.
